MY STORY

 

Greetings, I'm David M. Dickson, founder of ADA Homes Sold Denver at Keller Williams, DTC.

From an early age, I've confronted significant challenges. Diagnosed with Hydrocephalus at just ten months old, I underwent a risky craniotomy to alleviate the pressure caused by this neurological disorder, which later led to complications due to excessive bleeding.

Throughout my late teens and twenties, I developed a profound passion for fitness, which remains central to my life. Despite health setbacks, I've learned that dedication and perseverance are crucial for achieving personal goals.

In 2002, my life took another turn with an epilepsy diagnosis, marking the beginning of a complex medical journey. In 2017, I was further challenged by Superficial Siderosis diagnosis (learn more at www.livingwithss.com), which brought hearing loss, tinnitus, and balance issues, in 2020 making me a manual wheelchair user.

My professional journey includes extensive experience in upscale restaurants, such as Ruth’s Chris Steak House, where I honed my passion for delivering outstanding service. Additionally, I spent nearly a decade as a personal trainer and another decade as an Account Executive in wholesale mortgage lending, all contributing to my passion for people in real estate.

These experiences have profoundly shaped my perspective and deepened my empathy for others facing similar obstacles, enhancing my ability to serve in real estate. I firmly believe that physical challenges should never hinder anyone from achieving their dream of homeownership. With a robust network and valuable resources, I am dedicated to helping you find the perfect home or make necessary modifications, providing the exceptional service that defines my career.

Beyond my professional endeavors, I am committed to raising awareness for medical conditions. I actively support nonprofits like the Parkinson's Association of the Rockies (where I was honored as the 2023 Volunteer of the Year) and serve on Colorado's Rare Disease Advisory Council and the Superficial Siderosis Research Alliance.
